Jessica L. WhaleyAttorney
Having always been interested in legal issues affecting the healthcare field, Jessica found an unexpected complement to her passion when joining the Procino-Wells & Woodland, LLC team. Jessica’s prior experience led her into very hands-on casework, like participating in a clinical trial. Although the work of the specialized elder law firm isn’t nearly as connected to medical remedies, being able to support families as they prepare for, or are experiencing a long-term care need has proven to be just as intriguing for Jessica.
Jessica spent most of her grade school years in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Following her graduation from Roanoke College, Jessica moved to Delaware and attended Widener University – Delaware Law School. During this time, Jessica worked full time as an administrative assistant at a boutique bankruptcy and corporate litigation firm. After graduation, Jessica has earned her membership to the Bar of the Supreme Court of New Jersey and was more recently admitted to the Bar of the State of Maryland.
Following law school, Jessica worked as a law clerk at a prominent Delaware insurance defense firm, working for senior partners in the workers’ compensation department and serving as the firm’s Employment Law Editor for the monthly newsletter.
Since joining Procino-Wells & Woodland, LLC, Jessica has been serving clients in the area of Estate and Trust Administration, helping families settle their loved one’s matters after they pass away. Now that she has received her license to practice law in Maryland, she also looks forward to contributing to client matters within the Estate Planning and Asset Protection Planning departments.
Jessica currently resides in Frederica with her husband and middle-school sweetheart, Neil, their daughter, Rosalee, and two dogs, Beau and Quinn. On a recent family vacation Jessica experienced another affirming benefit of joining the firm, as she peacefully stepped away from the office and memorized the look on her daughter’s face as she enjoyed a week at the ocean. She loves living close to her sister’s family and in her free time, Jessica enjoys exploring antique shops and baking. Next time you’re in the office, feel free to ask Jessica for the recipe for her family’s Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Cookies. It’s just one of the many varieties she bakes with her mother and grandmother during the holiday season.
